Dr. Cherie Oubre is the Deputy Element Scientist for flight in the Research Operations & Integration (ROI) Element and the Project Scientist for the Complement of Integrated Protocols for Human Exploration Research (CIPHER). Prior to joining ROI, she was a senior scientist in the NASA Johnson Space Center Microbiology Laboratory, involved in a diverse blend of research and operational microbiology activities focused on maintaining crew health and safety. Her area of expertise is in host-microorganism interactions and has conducted research in agricultural, military and spaceflight laboratories.
