Katy Martin, PhD, is Outreach and Communications Lead at miniPCR bio, a maker of biotechnology for users in classrooms and laboratories. In her capacity there she led the Genes in Space contest from 2019 through 2023, during which time she supported four student-designed ISS research investigations. Before joining the miniPCR bio team, Katy worked as a science educator in both formal and informal settings, and earned a PhD in neuroscience from Emory University.
